Brethren help in providing "board & lodging" for teddy bears
12/06/08 09:49
Since the Appeal was launched we has been inundated with calls offering assistance from masons all over the Province; from offers of delivering the bears to the A&E units, to wanting more lapel pins to sell at Lodge meetings.
By accepting these offers and using the Provincial Charity Area Committees, which were set up by Provincial Grand Charity Steward W Bro Tony Denne, we have been able to create a network of masons who store and deliver teddies for the A&E units, co-ordinate the distribution of lapel pins and the collection of funds.
The Appeal would like to thank the following brethren who store boxes of teddies and deliver them to the A&E units in their area:- W Bro Mike Spencer, Maidstone; W Bro Malcolm Harley, Q.E.Q.M. Margate; W Bro John Reuther, William Harvey Ashford; W Bro Roy White, Medway Maritime; W Bro Vic Stephens, Canterbury; W Bro Mike Gee, Buckland Dover.
Also our thanks go to those Charity Stewards who have volunteered to liaise with the Appeal in the distribution of lapel pins and collection funds for the lodges in their Area. They are W Bro Bernard Arlington, (Chatham); W Bro Mike Gee, (Deal, Dover & Sandwich); W Bro Ray Stone, (Gillingham); W Bro Frank Midwinter, (Gravesend); W Bro Stan Donald, (Ashford); W Bro Andrew Barton, (Thanet); W Bro John Jones, (Folkestone); W Bro Vic Stephens, (Canterbury); W Bro Bob Burns, (Maidstone & Malling) and W Bro Malcolm Burkett, (Sittingbourne & Sheerness). Any requests for lapel pins can be directed towards these brethren, who will contact the Appeal on your behalf
