Family & Friends walk to raise £2.2k

On a sunny August Bank Holiday Sunday, family members of the Appeal and some very good friends, 26 in all, walked along the Medway river bank from Tonbridge to Yalding. The nine mile sponsored walk was the idea of Mrs Julie Keeley, the Chairman’s wife, and with the support of the committee and their friends, raised a promised £2,200.
Dressed in yellow T shirts with the TLC teddy logo emblazoned on the front, they completed the walk in just about 3 hours. The rest of the day was spent being entertained in the riverside garden of W Bro John & his wife Julie’s home with a BBQ and live music. W Bro John Keeley said, ‘Next year it is hoped that more people will come and join us. The more the merrier’.
